“Island Time” is always the preferred measure of time for most of us and out on St. George Island, Florida, it’s always island time! Currently there has never been more opportunity to take advantage of one of the many great deals in this St. George Island Real Estate Market! Just imagine knowing that time is no longer of the essence, throwing the watches to the wayside, and indulging in such a laid back unspoiled lifestyle here along the shores of The Gulf of Mexico!
Well, this past week here in this St. George Island Real Estate Market, several savvy buyers did just that as they closed on their own piece of paradise! 19 properties SOLD along the shores of Florida’s Forgotten Coast, including 13 Homes and 6 Properties (vacant lots) – 2 Wewahitchka Homes and 1 Wewahitchka Property (vacant lot), 1 St. Joe Beach Home, 1 Port St. Joe Home, 1 Cape San Blas Property (vacant lot), 1 Apalachicola Historic Home and 2 Apalachicola Properties (vacant lots), 5 St. George Island Beach Homes, 2 Carrabelle Homes and 2 Carrabelle Properties (vacant lots), and 1 Alligator Point Home. Of these sales 12 transactions closed due to a Distressed/Short Sale/REO/Bank Owned/Foreclosure situation and 9 buyers paid CASH.
8 of those buyers took advantage of the still amazingly low interest rates that are being offered and secured conventional financing. With the 30 year fixed @ 4.125% and the 15 year fixed @ 3.375%, I think they made a wise choice!
One of the great buys of the week was this 1st tier St. George Island beach home located in the Casa Del Mar Subdivision. No doubt the new buyers are proud of this hot deal at $475,000 CASH, as this same home originally sold for $995,000 back in 2002!
Another steal of a deal and just in time for the Apalachicola Seafood Festival is this St. George Island Bank Owned Bay Front home, which is perfectly situated on 74′ of Apalachicola Bay Front Property! This one SOLD for $360,000 CASH and of course these new buyers are also proud of their deal knowing this same home sold for $750,000 in 2005!
The change of seasons here along Florida’s Forgotten Coast always present exciting times! From the Scallop Festival in Port St. Joe to the ever popular Florida Seafood Festival, there is never a dull moment or lack of fresh seafood for the tasting here in our area! Coming up this weekend over at Battery Park in historic down town Apalachicola, is the 2011 Florida Seafood Festival! There will no doubt be an abundance of succulent Apalachicola Bay Oysters on tap and plenty of food, fun, & family times for all to enjoy. From the red-fish run and blue crab races, to the oyster shucking contests and the array of arts and crafts, not to mention Travis Tritt, live in concert! Can you say, get ready to be entertained and have some FUN?!
