Florida’s Forgotten Coast is teeming with tourist this spring season so remember the 35 mph speed limit in the noted areas. All along the Highway 98 real estate this weekend there are tons of things for those visitors to do. Friday, April 6th, downtown Port St. Joe will be hopping with the First Friday at Five and then on to the Thirsty Goat for the First Friday Music Series. If that’s not enough music for your soul keep an eye out all along the Gulf Coast for Billy Dean this weekend he will be criss-crossing Gulf County! He is expected to stop at the Haughty Heron, Thirsty Goat, Indian Pass Raw Bar, and Lake Alice Park. Saturday, April 7th, make some time for the Salt Air Market at the City Commons Park, it will be open from 9am until 1pm. Slow down and keep a close eye out Saturday, on Cape San Blas Road for the folks involved with the 5k Run/Walk. Then on Sunday, time to take it easy again and enjoy that special Easter Sunday Dinner.
We maybe slowing our cars down for those visitors, but the Forgotten Coast Real Estate Market is blazing fast with 36 sales this week! Top sales of the week were reported at St. George Island with 13 properties sold 10 homes and 3 lots (vacant). Carrabelle also saw a great week with a total of 10 properties sold, 8 lots (vacant) and 2 homes. 3 properties sold on Cape San Blas all were homes. 1 Apalachicola home was sold, along with 1 Indian Pass home and 1 home in Wewahitchka. 3 homes were sold in Port St. Joe and 4 homes in Mexico Beach. 20 of these sales were REO/Bank Owned/Distressed/Short Sales. 13 buyers paid cash, while 23 buyers took advantage of conventional financing.
One of St. George Island’s best sales this week is this magnificant 2 bedroom/2bath home. The interior is spectacular – with windows across the back from floor to ceiling – a living room with hardwood floors and a cozy marble surround gas fireplace. The two bedrooms are spacious, each with a large baths and entries to the back deck. There is a loft accessed via a circular staircase – the loft allows you views of the bay and the gulf. As you sit and relax on the back deck you can see the heated swimming pool and boat dock with lift. A short walk to the State Park and the beautiful beaches of St. George.
Check out this great Bank Owned Mexico Beach Condo that sold this week. This was one of two units left for sale. Both units have Gulf view. The development is directly across the street from the beach with public beach access right there. The pool, hot tub and large deck area is located on the second floor above parking and has lovely Gulf views. Both units have ceramic tile and carpeting, kitchens have corian counter tops and breakfast bars. The bank is offering special financing at 4.95% fixed for 20 years with as little as 15% down.
Another of the best buys this week was this 3 bedroom/1 bath plus 2 one bedroom cottages Port St. Joe Property. This bank owned property sold for $53,000 cash! That is remarkable, as it sold for $154,000, in 2007.
There is a great weekend to be had all along the Gulf Coast this weekend, but slow down and keep an eye out for our visitors and outstanding real estate deals.
